Who we are
If you're looking for a "Disciples of Christ" congregation, you need look no further. We are a Congregation in the Candler-Enka area, just outside of Asheville, N.C. who opened our doors to our new building in May of 2009.
We are a "non-creedal" congregation, open to diversity, questions, art, laughter, the celebration of life, and the Goodness of God as revealed in Jesus of Nazareth. We welcome anyone to join us who loves God as revealed in Christ, and, who yearns to follow God's guidance in the way of Christ. We emphasize a relationship with Christ instead of "right" dogmas or creeds, or arguing theology.
Our Pastor, the Rev. Dr. Tom Everton genuinely felt called to come and be our Spiritual Leader, as we embark on this new journey. We are excited and open to wherever and whatever God calls us to BE or DO.
We are a warm and friendly congregation, eager to welcome others, and respond to the needs of our community and the world. Please consider coming out and worshiping with us at our 10:45 a.m. Sunday service. You will be welcomed, and, hopefully, you'll be Spiritually fed.

Under 12s:
Sunday School
We have one Adult Sunday School Class, a Nursery, and a class for children through the 5th grade. In our Adult Sunday School, we are reading and discussing a book on the Sermon on the Mount, by Richard Rohr. Fr. Rohr, a Franciscan Priest, is ecumenical and broad in his scholarship. Format: No preparation is required. We simply read for 15 minutes at the start of the class and then have a lively discussion. We don't always agree, but we definitely discuss and dialogue respectfully. Like we "Disciples" say, "We agree to disagree agreeably. This is a wonderful, warm, open and supportive group who often share deep spiritual questions and discoveries. Come try us out, we'd LOVE to have you!
Children Sunday School
We offer a Sunday Class for ages 3 through 5th grade. The class begins at 9:35 a.m. and is designed to cover the same Biblical Lesson/Story on “different age levels” at the same time. We also have a a newly started class for Jr. High students.
Nursery Room
We have a Nursery/Toddler Room for ages infant through 4 years old to enjoy during Sunday School and the 10:45 am worship hour, with a regular nursery/toddler attendant.
During the first part of our worship service, we have a children's sermon and then children up to ages 5 through 4th grade attend children's church.
