Who we are
OUR BELIEF
Declaration of Faith
We Believe:
In the verbal inspiration of the Bible In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor. That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins. That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost. Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people. In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart. In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost. In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement In the Lord’s Supper and washing of the saints’ feet. In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years. In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
OUR MISSION
To Cultivate Growth through God’s Love, the Word, Worship and Service.
OUR VISION
To Unite, Innovate, and Empower.

Leader Bio:
In obedience to the calling of God, Bishop Jerome left Stamford Connecticut to venture into a then unknown location where God directed him.
Called in ministry at the age of 19, Bishop Serge Jerome has served as Regional Youth Director in Port-au-Prince Haiti and created under his pastor, Rev. Laurore Morisset, an Adult Continuation School for the less fortunate.
He moved to the United States in 1982, where he assisted Pastors Jean and Maud Lafortune in Stamford, CT., for five years. Bishop Jerome discovered his life calling when he moved to Lake Worth, Florida, in 1987. In a community, then, deprived of role models, Bishop Jerome concentrated his teachings on higher education, business development, and strong family support and involvement. He built Salem Community Church in Lake Worth in 1996, a leading model of spirituality and social enhancement.
Bishop Jerome left Salem Ministries in 2015 to take the lead over Hillside Church of God, aka 'The First Haitian Church of God,' founded and led by Bishop Eugene M. Germain. Bishop Jerome enjoys teaching God's transformative power, reorganizing the church administratively, and focusing on the church's future as a beacon of hope in the community.
Bishop Serge has coached many pastors, restored various churches and families, and transformed countless lives. One of his many passions is to evangelize and rebuild churches in the Caribbean. He also enjoys encouraging people to be financially and spiritually prosperous.
Besides being the Senior Pastor of the First Haitian Church of God in Miami, Bishop Serge Jerome is now the Regional Bishop overseeing many churches in Florida for the Church of God Organization.
It is the Bishop’s heartfelt privilege to welcome and invite you to visit our campus. Hillside is a family church and a community church.
We offer you our services in English and French/Haitian-Creole. We consider it a joy to encourage you in your personal and spiritual walk.

First Haitian Hillside Church of God History
In 1972, 11 members with a Pentecostal faith under the direction of Minister Omanes St-Paul called upon the Late Pastor Eugene Germain to shepherd the flock. On August 29, 1974, Pastor Germain migrated to Miami from Guadeloupe, and became the first leader and founder of the First Haitian Church of God.
Under the spiritual and administrative leadership of the Late Pastor Germain, the number of followers increased steadily. The church is renowned and is the pioneer for the “40 days revival” which started in 1963, after receiving the anointing and a special order of the Holy Spirit to organize the revival annually.
In 1991, the First Haitian Church of God relocated to its current location at 7140 North Miami Ave. Bishop Dr. Eugene Germain pastored the establishment for over 37 years. Retired in 2010, he was honored as Emeritus until he went to be with the Lord on July 23, 2020. He left a well-established and respected spiritual legacy in our community.
The church was led from 2011 to 2015 by Dr. Fenel Vixamar.
