Leader Bio:
Rev. Schooley joined First Presbyterian Church in July 2017. He comes here via Pittsburgh, PA, where he served as head pastor at Center Presbyterian Church. Though coming from Pittsburgh, he is a native Ohioan, having grown up in nearby Mansfield, Ohio. In addition to his pastoral work at First Presbyterian, he is working on completing his PhD in Christian Ethics from Duquesne University and writes a monthly column for The Presbyterian Outlook. He and his wife, Brianne, have been married for 10 years and are the proud 'parents' to an old dog, River. He's absolutely in love with Marysville ('The grass really is greener here,' he says!) and you can find him watching sports at Roosters, eating pizza at Benny's, and poking around Pack Rats Comics.
His passions in ministry are for teaching and preaching. When he's not at the church, he's doing work around his new home, spending time with his wife and family, and brewing beer in his basement. He's a self-avowed 'book nerd' and loves great conversation over good coffee (or good conversation over great coffee)

First Presbyterian Church History
The First Presbyterian Church of Marysville was established in 1829 and is the oldest church in Union County. The present building is the third in the church's history, all occupying the corner of Fifth and Court streets in downtown Marysville. In 1993 a major renovation, including a three story addition, was completed. The building is completely accessible, including an elevator and handicap accessible restrooms.
