Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church is a dynamic church located in New Prague, MN. Our beliefs are based on the Bible and centered on Jesus Christ. Our mission is very simple: to lead people to honor and glorify Jesus Christ as their risen Savior and Lord. That means we’re not about a building or some complicated religious system, but about helping people from all backgrounds discover the joy that comes from knowing and serving Jesus Christ.
We invite you to come and check us out this weekend at one of our worship services. We know that going to a new church can be intimidating, so we try to do things in a way where you’ll feel welcome and not like an outsider. When you come, you can participate or just sit back and observe. You’ll discover a warm atmosphere, practical teaching from God's Word and lots of friendly people pursuing God together. And with childcare and classes for all ages, your family will love it too!

Question: What are your services like?
Answer: Whether it is through the music, prayer or preaching, God's word is at the center of all of our gatherings. Each service includes a time of prayer, preaching and giving. The sermons are built on God’s Word, not the pastor's ideas, and aim at transforming our lives to be more like Jesus Christ.Question: Where should I park?
Answer: We have a parking lot next to the church, and designated spots, near the front door, for handicapped worshipers.Question: Where should I go when I enter the building?
Answer: If you enter on the north side of the building (glass double-door entry), there should be a nice cup of coffee/water waiting for you there in our Welcome Area before the Sunday worship service. We have greeters located at the doors who will be happy to help you find where you need to go. While you're in the Welcome Area, feel free to take a peek at the bulletin board for current information and events.Question: What should I wear?

Pastor Koch was called to serve as Friedens Ev. Lutheran Church's Pastor, in April of 2008. Prior to that, he served Faith Ev. Lutheran (St. Petersburg, Florida), from 1999 to 2008. Previously, he was assigned in 1989 to Zion Ev. Lutheran (Torrance, California).
The attributes that best describe Pastor Koch as a pastor are strong preaching, leadership development and counseling. He has expressed a burning desire to lead a church like Friedens Lutheran Church where biblical views are embraced and encouraged, with members who care about the needs of those around them and who want to connect others to the body of Christ. Pastor Koch takes worship and preaching very seriously, spending the first hours of his day focused on Bible study.
He graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 1988, with a Master of Divinity Degree.
Pastor Henry has been happily married for 28 years to his wife, Cindy. They have one son: Nathanael Koch.
