Who we are

Grace Bible Church is a welcoming, compassionate family of Bible believers who understand that the church is not the four walls of a building. It is the people inside, the relationships made, and the souls touched for the Lord that matter the most.

When you enter the doors of our church, you will experience the power of community and the indisputable truths of God’s Word. Together, we worship, we serve, we learn, and we reach out to demonstrate the love of Jesus to a world in need. If you have been looking and praying for a place to belong, we invite you to come see what makes GBC feel like home.

We Believe...

the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is our authority in faith, life, and church practice.

that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, and that He rose to show that our sins have been paid for and that we have a Living Savior.

that personal acceptance of Christ as Savior is the only way to salvation.

in the personal presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of every born-again Christian.

in the personal, imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ for all who trust Him.

Leader Bio:
Pastor Luke Shover was born in Danville, PA. He spent his childhood in Durban, South Africa where his family served as missionaries with ABWE.

Luke followed his call into ministry by attending and graduating from Piedmont Baptist College. Luke married Stephanie in the summer of 2009. Shortly after, he ministered as an assistant pastor at Trinity Gospel Church in Williamsport, PA. Luke was ordained into the pastorate in 2013 and a year later God led him and his wife to Haneyville Bible Church in Lock Haven, PA where he served as pastor for several years. Pastor Luke completed a graduate degree from Baptist Bible Seminary and is currently pursuing a doctor of ministry degree.

Luke and Stephanie have two young children and he enjoys every minute with his family. During his free time, Pastor Luke enjoys a good historical book or film. He is not a coffee-drinker but will gladly welcome a good cup of tea and engaging conversation. Pastor Luke and his family are blessed to be part of Grace Bible Church and the North Haledon community!   Edit

Dress Code

Please don't worry about what you'll wear to church, for we truly believe people should come to God as they are. You don't need to dress up to get his approval--that comes through Jesus' sacrifice. Once you walk in the doors, you'll see that the congregation has all types of people in all kinds of dress. While a few people in the church wear ties, others like to remind them that Jesus never wore a tie. Shorts are as welcome as suits, and you'll see both.   Edit

Sunday School / Children and Youth Activities

Under 12s:
Olympians

Olympians will resume September 2021

'I press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.' Phillipians 3:14

Olympians at Grace Bible Church is a youth group made for boys and girls in Grades K-5.

Meeting Time: 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM on Friday Night via Zoom. Please contact church office if you would like your child to join in on the meeting.

Looking to spend quality time with your kids?

May we suggest, spending 1.5 hours together attending Olympians on Friday evenings. We have a need for helpers in all areas: music, crafts, games, and small class leaders. If you are available only once or twice a month, that's fine, we can use your assistance. So consider bringing the kids and staying. Dads are especially encouraged to come but be sure to dress for mess!   Edit
Under 18s:
Junior High Youth Group

Friday Nights at 7:00 PM

WHO? 6th – 8th graders
WHERE? Grace Bible Church campus

What to Expect?

A typical night consists of:

Down Time

We start our night with downtime in the gym. Catch up with friends and leaders, play basketball, or join in an icebreaker game.

Game Time

We play game of all types for all types of interests! Kickball, capture the flag, charades, and telephone pictionary are some recent faves. Some nights we get creative with culinary challenges, minute-to-win it games, and even painting nights.

Lesson Time

Lessons are taught in a large-group setting to both Junior High and Senior High students. Some topics that we’ve covered this year include loving the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and a glimpse into the Psalms. Our current study is delving into the Book of Judges, discovering how God is quick to respond when we turn our hearts in faith to Him.

Small Group Time

We have a heart to share the gospel with our youth and build meaningful, Christ-centered relationships. Our desire is for God to help us digest the truths from the lesson and apply them in our lives. Small groups, which are broken down by age (Junior High and Senior High), help serve this purpose. They also provide an opportunity to invite others more deeply into our lives as we share joys, struggles, and prayer requests with one another.

The power of Christian prayer submit yourself to Him
The will of God for your life is simply that you submit yourself to Him each day and say, "Father, Your will for today is mine. Your pleasure for today is mine. Your work for today is mine. I trust You to be God. You lead me today and I will follow."
