Who we are
Welcome
Here at Grace Community Church, we are a body striving to serve God together. We are not a perfect people – but we do serve a perfect Savior. With His help and the help of those around us, we will seek to grow and glorify the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. He is the tie that binds us together! The longer I pastor, I more I see how both beautiful and strange the idea of the “church” really is. After all, no man-made institution would seek to bring together people from various backgrounds, ethnicities, social climates, and professions and insist we work together and love one another. In terms of worldly sense, the church makes none; and yet, it works! We are indeed able to unite together for a common goal, dismissing how we are different and what might otherwise divide us for the purpose of furthering God’s Kingdom.
God is wiser than man. He understands and intends for us to understand that His goal is not homogeny but unified diversity. We are stronger when we are different because we bring different perspectives, strengths, and gifts. It may be easier to group ourselves amongst people who are like us; however, God is most greatly satisfied when His Gospel is the tie that binds us. It may be easier to go it alone in some situations. But God is most honored when we work, serve, and love together.
I hope this website is informative and helps you to become better acquainted with who we are. Feel free to look around and familiarize yourself with how we operate and who we are. And as always, you are invited to come check us out on Sunday morning.
Grace and Peace,
Travis Van Meter, Lead Pastor Grace Community Church
