Who we are
AN INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY FOR ALL WHO ARE LOOKING FOR A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN FELLOWSHIP WITH LOVING FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe in God the father who is the Creator and Ruler of our world. He is a single God with three equal entities called the trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit
We believe in Christ who is equal with the Father and Holy Spirit. Jesus after living a sinless life offered himself as a sacrifice for our sins, because of his great love for us. He demonstrated his power over death when he arose from the dead after three days. He ascended to heaven and makes intercession for us. He will one day return as king to the earth.
We believe in the Holy Spirit who is equal to the Father and Son. He is present in the world today and helps us see our need for Jesus Christ. Once we have accepted Christ's work on the cross for us, he helps us understand why God's ways are best for us.

Leader Bio:
Pastor John, his wife Nikki, and their family moved to Griffin in November of 2020 from Dickinson, ND. Nikki is a Georgia native from Ellaville. I, Pastor John, grew up in a military home, and moved to GA when I was 13 years old. As a teenager, I felt the call of God on my life only to decided I knew knew what was best for me. I joined the USAF after High School, and I went through some pretty hard times in my life. In my mid 20's, I completely turned my back on God and the church.
Through the efforts of a praying family, I made my way back to God in my mid 30's. Shortly after I felt God calling me to ministry again, but did not see any way I could go about answering the call. While deployed in Afghanistan in 2010, God made the call very clear and very loud! Once I returned home from my deployment, the Lord made open all the doors so I could respond to His call to the ministry.
Our first ministry was to a small church in Dickinson, ND we called the edge of the known universe. We loved our time and the people there, and really hated to leave. God called us to come home to GA. When Griffin First extended the call to us we were happy to follow and see what God has planned for us, Griffin First and the surrounding area. To God be the Glory.

Although at times imperfect, we strive to be our best at being Christlike in all we do and say. We play and have fun, but we also have our serious side too when we worship our Savior.

Griffin First Church of the Nazarene History
A brief history of Griffin First Church of the Nazarene
It is God's desire to encourage us to be a part of his plan for the world. It was no different in October 1950 when He inspired Rev. White to come to Griffin and secured a meeting place to start prayer meetings. Following a revival in December 1951 with Rev Fuller the Griffin First Church of the Nazarene was organized and officers installed by then superintendent Rev. Anderson. Many of the charter members are pictured above.
Through the early 1950's the church saw growth and changes including several revivals, pastors, and locations. Rev. Hawkins became pastor in September 1957 and the construction of our first church building began. The first service was held in the new facility appropriately on Easter 1958. God continued to bless us with the right pastors for each season of growth. Along with an increase of membership, growth included radio ministries, the purchase of instruments, signs etc and the paying off of mortgages.
In December 1983 the land on Zebulon Road was purchased and the ground breaking for the new building took place the following December. The first service was held Easter Sunday 1987. This membership has seen God work again paying off another mortgage. We thank God for allowing us to be a part of his plan for Griffin. We pray that you will feel inspired by God to join us in reaching out to those around us. Let's be God's family together.
