Who we are
Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church has been a part of St. Paul’s East Side since 1889. We have been in our present location since 1959.
Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church today – A “Gateway of Faith”:
As part of its history, Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church has served as a gateway of faith to the local community – beginning with its foundations in the Swedish Lutheran community, and then supporting and ministering to the numerous waves immigrant populations that have populated the East Side of St. Paul in the years following.
As a congregation, we recently went through as strategic planning process and are claiming that history and catapulting it into the future to meet whatever ministry needs arise. We will continue to serve as a Gateway of Faith to the surrounding community – working to understand changing needs and providing appropriate support.
Gateway of Faith is the newly defined mission initiative which resulted from prayer with God and conversation both inside and outside of our church doors regarding God’s call upon this congregation. God’s desire is for all people to have abundant life in relationship with Christ. GA Church is called to serve as a gateway for such relationships. At the same time we provide a gateway out into the community to make faith relationship active in love to our city, neighbor and one another.

submit yourself to Him
The will of God for your life is simply that you submit yourself to Him each day and say, "Father, Your will for today is mine. Your pleasure for today is mine. Your work for today is mine. I trust You to be God. You lead me today and I will follow."
