Who we are
OUR VISION
Our congregation is a part of the Presbytery of Arkansas. We are members of the Presbyterian Church USA and our polity and positions are guided by its governing system.
We accept everyone regardless of background, race, gender identity or age. Put simply, people in the Harmony congregation come to be a part of a loving church, not to impress.
WHAT WE DO
We come together to worship: we sing vigorously, we pray earnestly and we open our ears and our hearts to the spoken Word. We love each other during celebrations and through difficult times. We support missions that build up communities and people who need help. We take up Special for causes and mission trips on a regular basis.
OUR COMMUNITY
We are a small church (20-30 at worship normally) full of joy. A visitor recently said he "felt the love in the noise of visiting" during the passing of the peace. Compared to much larger churches, ours is a relatively "informal" church with a focus upon the love and grace of the Risen Christ, made real in today's world through Christ's people.
We are now seeking ways to be more visible and active in our community. Come join us as we grow! Harmony, its worth the drive!

Harmony Presbyterian Church History
The following is a report, "History of the Congregation of Harmony Presbyterian Church," written by J.M. Laster of Harmony, Arkansas. July 30, 1914.
A small number of the charter members of this congregation came from Wilson County, Tennessee in the year 1831, while the majority came in 1836. Some of them brought with them letters of dismissal from congregations in that state.
They first joined the church at Clarksville, but in 1844 those members living on Horsehead Creek asked for and received permission, to organize a congregation at this place. The Harmony congregation was organized by the Reverend Jesse M. Blair, with Abraham Laster and Robert Hardgraves as Ruling Elders and the following as Charter members. (The following names have been alphabetized for easy identification but were not in the original document.)

Open our ears to hear
Blessed Lord, open our ears to hear what Thou speakest and our eyes to see as Thou seest. Give us hearts to beat in sympathy with Thine at the sight of every little child; and above all, our Lord, to understand and experience how surely and how blessedly Thou fulfilest Thy promise, "Whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me."
