Who we are
Welcome
We hope that as we take some time together to explain a little about what God is doing through us, it will be both useful and informative to you.
According to our trust document, The Assemblies of God (Otorohanga) Church was founded in 1985. It was originally a church in its own right, but in the 1990’s, as membership declined; it became a cell church under the “Waitomo Christian Fellowship” in Te Kuiti. By that time it had assumed the name “Otorohanga Christian Fellowship”. The congregation purchased a new building and determined to re-establish the fellowship, installing a full time pastor in January 2001. We are still affiliated to Assemblies of God New Zealand (Inc.).
Things started to happen, the church started growing, and the name was changed to “Harvest Christian Fellowship”, as a part of the vision that God was giving us.
In Early 2005, we embarked on an ambitious project to impact our community. We established a second trust (Harvest Centre Trust) as a fund raising vehicle, and set about establishing a community and youth centre which would double as our church, but would be available for all of Otorohanga.
Our church ministry is focused on spirit, soul and body (1Thess. 5:23) to enable people to live their life's calling.
We hope that as we take some time together to explain a little about what God is doing through us, it will be both useful and informative to you.

Leader Bio:
Peter and Carole have been in ministry for 32 years and are the Senior Pastors of Harvest Church in Otorohanga.
Relocating from Zimbabwe in 2001, they could not have found a more welcoming environment to settle in. Over the past two decades, Peter and Carole have pastored Harvest Church and enjoy connecting with people of all ages, from all walks of life and from many nations.
Growing great leaders and church development is something Peter is continually working on. Committed to being a life-long learner, Peter completed a Bachelor of Contemporary Ministry, graduating in 2019 through Alphacrucis College.
Peter and Carole are passionate about the local community and have both completed the Diploma in Christian Ministries – Chaplaincy, to be better equipped to minister in this fully.
Joining forces with like-minded community members in the district to empower the youth of Otorohanga through the Thrive Trust has been a highlight. With a strong influence in connecting with the local community, Peter serves on the Otorohanga District Council as a Community Board Member. This opportunity allows him to use his experience in leadership, governance and management outside of the Church environment.
Peter and Carole have been married for 32 years and have a growing family; with one delightful grandson who has completely stolen their hearts.

God's Promise
Jesus gave His life so that you do not have to carry your burden. He knows this burden hinders you from having eternal life. He knows your sin burden hinders you from living the abundant life that God created you to live. He knows your sin hinders you from experiencing joy and peace that has no bounds and hinders you from receiving all that God has promised and created you to receive.
You just have to ask.
