Who we are
St. Paul's, Her Majesty's Royal Chapel of the Mohawks is on Six Nations of the Grand River territory in Brantford, Ontario. It is one of only two royal chapels in North America, a gift from King George III to His Majesty's allies, the Six Nations of the Mohawk River Valley in upstate New York, to thank them for their loyalty and courage during the American Revolution. The church replaces an older structure that the Six Nations had to leave behind them when they left America and settled in Upper Canada in 1785. The original chapel was built in 1712. The current chapel was built in 1785 and is the oldest standing original building in Ontario. Formerly a chapel for the Mohawk Institute, a residential school which closed in 1970, it is now a chapel for weddings and special celebrations of the Brantford and Six Nations communities.
Tours may be arranged by phoning the chapel or by contacting us on our web site. The chapel is open for tours from May to October.

Grant me, O Lord...
Grant me, O Lord, to know what I ought to know,to love what I ought to love, to praise what delights Thee most, to value what is precious in Thy sight, to hate what is offensive to Thee. Do not suffer me to judge according to the sight of my eyes, nor to pass sentence according to the hearing of the ears of ignorant men; but to discern with a true judgment between things visible and spiritual, and above all, always to inquire what is the good pleasure of Thy will.
