Who we are
Welcome to Heritage Apostolic Tabernacle. We are pleased and honored you have chosen to visit our website. Our prayer is that you will sense the presence of the Lord and enjoy the uniqueness of our fellowship in Christ. We are committed to "Bearing one another's burdens," and invite you to worship with us in person! Our desire is that when you visit you will be able to say, "It was good to be in the house of the Lord." and know that a warm welcome awaits your return.
The Truth About Salvation
We were all born into sin - everyone in this entire world. It is because of this that we must have salvation. Jesus Christ was the living sacrifice which makes salvation possible. It is important to understand that God has given us exact steps to take to achieve eternal life - it is not just handed to us. Jesus died, was buried, and rose on the third day. The Bible tells us that we are to follow the same pattern for salvation after initial belief and faith in God: repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues (resurrection). (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4). The church was designed to follow this plan. Peter was given the keys to the kingdom of heaven, and this is what he told the people they MUST do. (Acts 2:38; 4:12; 8:12-17; 10:43-48; 19:1-6)
The Oneness of God
The greatest teaching of the Bible is that there is one God. The Bible clearly tells us that Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. Because God is omnipresent (present everywhere) and omnipotent (all powerful), He was able to be both God and man at the same time. Jesus spoke in the New Testament that when "you have seen me, you have seen the Father." (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 1:18-23; John 1:1-14; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:16; 2:5)
The Church
The design of the church is to reach out in every possible way to the people of this world with love and compassion. The church is described as the body of Christ who will spread this great gospel to all. It is important that we come together with every opportunity. The Word admonishes believers to assemble together to exhort one another in faith. If we are feeding our bodies three hot meals a day, but our souls only one or two cold snacks a week, we will not have the strength it takes to have victory. Spiritual Gifts, such as healing, prophecy, and discernment are very much in operation in today's church! Jesus is coming back again for His body of believers. (Mark 16:15; 1 Corinthians 12; 2 Corinthians 5:20; Philippians 2:5-11;1)
Praise and Worship
God loves when we send praise and worship to Him. Anyone can praise the Lord for the things He's done. The Bible says "Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord." Worship involves both an inward and outward demonstration of joy, love, and gratitude. Actions such as clapping hands, lifting hands, leaping for joy, shouting, dancing, singing, playing musical instruments, testifying publicly, praying aloud, etc. are encouraged and Biblically correct forms of praise and worship. (Psalms 47:1; Psalms 66:1-2; Psalms 149:3; Psalms 150; Acts 4:24; 1 Corinthians 14:26; Ephesians 5:19; 1 Timothy 2:8)
