Who we are
Welcome to Holy Trinity Anglican Church in North Gower. We are one of four churhes in the Parish of South Carleton in the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa. We are a warm and welcoming faith community, learning and growing together, exploring fresh understandings of Church in today's world, creating meaningful worship. We are searching for wholeness rather than perfection, experiencing God's love and reaching out to others. We invite you to join us each week as we gather to connect learn and grow. We challenge ourselves to open our minds and our hearts; to truly listen to God and to one another; to be mindful of the needs of others, to be creative in our efforts to strive for social justice to meet the needs of the world beyond our doors and to care for the gift of our natural environment. We are finding joy and blessing in our journey and we invite you to experience it with us.

Leader Bio:
Reverend Carolyn Seabrook is Incumbent of the newly formed Area Parish of South Carleton, serving the communities of Kars, Metcalfe, North Gower and Osgoode in the southern region of the Diocese of Ottawa. Prior to this she was Incumbent of the Parish of Kars-Osgoode and former Curate at All Saints’ Anglican Church in Westboro. Reverend Carolyn’s warm, welcoming and enthusiastic approach to ministry helps all to feel at home whether at church, in a pastoral visit or participating in community outreach and service projects. She enjoys engaging the vital questions being asked of the church today and facilitating discernment and growth initiatives in challenging ministry situations.
Carolyn and her husband Andrew live in the rural community of North Gower (south of Ottawa) and have three adult children. Prior to ordination Carolyn studied Psychology at Queen’s University and subsequently completed a Master of Science degree in Psychology in the UK. About 10 years ago Carolyn felt called to ordained ministry and began theological studies at St. Paul University in Ottawa where she completed the Bachelor of Theology followed by a Master’s in Pastoral Theology leading to Ordination in the Anglican Church of Canada.
Carolyn’s community involvement and social justice work has included founding the local North Gower Farmers’ Market with her husband Andrew (the market is now in its 25th season) and serving as Vice Chair of the Kemptville District Hospital Board. Carolyn worked for the Ottawa Carleton District School Board for 13 years and prior to that spent time working in the field of ending violence against women and developing crisis and counseling services for women in under-resourced communities. She has participated in the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women and served on the Canadian Council of Churches Working Group on Human Trafficking. Rev. Carolyn is currently a Board Member of The Rural Ottawa South Support Services (ROSSS).
In addition to enjoying time spent with her family, Carolyn also enjoys music, travel, piecing together puzzles (of all kinds!), a range of art projects (which are works in progress!), raising chickens and time at the cottage. Â

Holy Trinity Church Service Times
Sunday Mornings
9:00am Holy Eucharist (with music)
All ages welcome!
This means that: we gather to remember what God has done for us through Jesus the Christ.
We pray together, we hear readings from the Bible, we have the Scripture opened for us today through a homily, and we are invited to share in bread and wine as symbols of self-giving love.
'Communion' is offered to those who have been baptized into the mission of Christ, who have accepted this call. All are invited to come to the table, to receive blessing from the abundant love of God. All are invited to consider baptism.
We are made into the 'Body of Christ' to be sent out to do the work of Christ.
At 9:00 am we use a mix of tradional and contemporary music.
After the service we enjoy a time of fellowship with coffee, tea, juice and an abundance of delicious snacks.
We would be most pleased to welcome you at either service.
It's been more than 6 years since the last service times update. Please make sure to contact the church to confirm service times.

Holy Trinity Church History
Parish History
We are a four-church Area Parish known as The Parish of South Carleton. Our partner churches include Holy Trinity, Metcalfe; St. John's, Kars and St. Paul's, Osgoode. We work in a team ministry model with two clergy assigned to our parish.
The Stone Church
The Rev. Anthony Joseph O'Loughlin was the driving force behind the construction of the present church. He was originally a cabinet-maker, and carved an altar and reredos of St. Peter's Church in Brockville. He gave lectures in the communities around North Gower as a means of raising funds for the building of Holy Trinity.
The dressed stone for the church was quarried in Goulbourn Township, and brought to North Gower by members of the congregration. The rough stone, used for the foundation and walls, was brought from Hugh Moffat's farm in Marlborough and from the Leach farm in North Gower.
The cornerstone of the church was laid on June 25, 1879. It is on the east corner, under the Rector's Vestry. Nicholas Leach put copies of current newspapers in the niche of the stone. The Original Church
The first Anglican church in North Gower was of frame construction, building date unknown. After the stone church was built, it was used as a carpenter's and joiner's shop by Robert Willis. It changed hands to Fred Lord and then to Robert Acton, and burned down in 1911.
