Who we are
FOR TRAVERSE CITY
FOR. The word gives a sense of posture. It’s an openhandedness and approach that encourages us all to pursue the best in one another. It’s a starting point for unity and togetherness. It’s an approach to each other and our city that gives way to new life, vision, and opportunity. Often times, the perception of the church is built on what it’s against, but we don’t think it has to be that way.
We imagine a local church who creates space for questions and doubts and vulnerability. We imagine a church for the skeptic, the brokenhearted, and the person who has walked away from faith. We imagine a church with leaders who consistently show up in the lives of the next generation to guide, shape, and reveal the awe and wonder of a God who loves them. We imagine a local church filled with people on mission to make the community a better place to live.
We imagine a church known for telling a bigger story of redemption, hope, and grace. It’s a church who is known throughout the city as being FOR Families, FOR the Community, and FOR the Individual.
Kensington is here FOR Traverse City.

"Yes, Lord"
"Yes, Lord! Jesus, I give all of this to you. Jesus," I just started out a dream for my neighbourhood. "I didn't ask you to make me a messenger to the world. I just wanted to love my neighbours. But Jesus, here it is. Here's my future, here's my loneliness, here are all the pressures, here are the criticism", and I gave Him everything. And I told Him to take me again and I would try to make "Yes, Lord" the continuing motto of my life..
