Who we are
We are a growing, welcoming group of Methodists in the heart of Kirkbymoorside. Set in the picturesque surroundings of North Yorkshire, we aim to put our faith in to action by showing concern for our neighbours and providing a community resource which is both well-equipped and flexible.
Whether you are looking for a place to visit whilst on holiday, or a more permanent place of worship and friendship, we can assure you of a genuine Yorkshire Welcome and very much hope you will take a look around our website and discover what's on offer.
We are part of the Ryedale Methodist Circuit comprising of 25 Methodist Churches and we believe that we should:
share our experience of God's love
demonstrate God's love in showing care for others and responding to need
provide opportunities to worship God and to share in fellowship together
offer a welcome to all
explore and encourage ways of following Christ
Join us for Worship, at a weekday activity or enjoy a community activity
We look forward to welcoming you soon

Kirkbymoorside Methodist Church History
A Brief History of the Building in Piercy End
200 years in the present worship area
In 2012, based on a date stone over the entrance, we made an assumption that the building is 200 years old and as such, have made the year one of celebration - 200 years of continuing worship in the same building is worth celebrating! And we need to remember that it is the people who are the ‘church’, not the building in which we meet.
As part of the celebrations many historic documents were traced for an exhibition in church. Just a few of these are shown here. The research revealed that the site had been in Methodist hands much longer. Land and property was transferred to trustees on Christmas Day 1788 (which may be why even today the property insurance is due on 25th December)
