Who we are
Welcome to Knox Presbyterian Church Binbrook!
At Knox we are a people that celebrate Jesus everyday in our lives. We strive to communicate the timeless messages and truths of the Bible in exciting ways that are relevant and applicable to real people in today's world. Our style is casual and we invite you to join us regardless of your background or beliefs.
We are a people that celebrate Jesus everyday in our lives. We want you to get to know Jesus and find out the Good News He has for you. We also welcome your confidential prayer requests which may be sent to us here. It is a wonderful journey that we are on, we invite you to join us. May you be blessed.
What We Believe
God as Trinity
As Presbyterians, we believe in the Holy Trinity - God revealed in three "persons" - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The Bible
The Presyterian faith goes beyond all denominational divisions and interpretations to the Bible. Although recorded by man, we believe the writers of the bible were guided and inspired by God, and as such, the Bible is the divine Word of God.
Baptism and Communion
Presbyterians celebrate two sacraments - Baptism and Communion - as visible representations of God's invisible grace. Baptism can occur at any age. Believing parents can bring their child for Baptism and promise to raise their child to love and serve God. The entire congregation promises to support the child. Youth and adults can be baptised as part of their profession of faith if they were not baptised as a child.
Communion, the breaking of bread and drinking of wine or grape juice, reminds us of Jesus. Communion is thanksgiving and memorial of Christ's life and death. Communion is looking forward to the return of Jesus Christ. Communion is open to all who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
Living Faith
Knox is a member congregation of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. The Presbyterian Church in Canada has produced a document called "Living Faith" which expresses in ordinary, non-technical, language what it is that Canadian Presbyterian Christians believe.

Knox Presbyterian Church Service Times
Sunday Mornings at 11:00am
Our services are relevant and meaningful. After we've welcomed one another our service typically begins with a couple of upbeat worship songs. The words are projected on the screen in front of you. You are welcome to join in the singing or simply sit back and enjoy. After a couple songs, children are invited to the front for a Children's message from Pastor Bob. After this the children will move to Sunday school and Pastor Bob will deliver his message. After the message we will pray together and then close with a final song of worship.
Due to current COVID-19 pandemic worship service is cancelled until further notice.
It's been more than 3 years since the last service times update. Please make sure to contact the church to confirm service times.

Knox Presbyterian Church History
Knox Presbyterian Church is one of the oldest churches in South Wentworth. In 1843 the early settlers of Binbrook Township formed together and established a congregation under the leadership of a faithful missioner Rev. George Cheyne. Shortly thereafter, the church was errected by volunteer aid, using lumber donated by John Stewart. James Flood gave the land for the church and cemetery.
During Knox's first 50 years there were only two ministers. Rev. Cheyne ministered to Knox for 31 years, followed by Rev. William P. Walker, who ministered to Knox for 25 years.
The congregations of Binbrook and Saltfleet formed a two point charge up until 1922, when Knox was united with Blackheath Church under Rev. A. Wilson. In 1925-25, Blackheath congregation became part of the United Church of Canada at which time Knox joined with Carluke as a single pastoral charge, an arrangement which still exists today.
The 1950s were formative years for Knox as the community expanded. In 1956 plans were undertaken to relocate the church to it's present location. On June 3, 1962 the sod turning ceremony was held and on July 18th, the one storey building was moved to its present location in the village of Binbrook. Renovations added space both in front and back, with a full basement beneath, and was ready for the re-opening on December 2, 1962. The pews that had been in place since 1899 were moved to the new site and are still used in the church to this day.
Many of the families who worship at Knox today are decendants of those who were in the church over 150 years ago, going back four to six generations.

When we stumble...
O Lord our God, Who has called us to serve You in the midst of the world's affairs, When we stumble, hold us; when we fall, lift us up. When we are hard pressed with evil, deliver us. When we turn from what is good, turn us back and bring us at last to Your glory.
