Knox Presbyterian Church History
Presbyterian ministry began in this area of Perth county in 1846, when the Rev. Dr. William Chalmers Burns passed through Mitchell, and preached a sermon from a stump located begin the Hicks House. For the next two years, services were conducted by clergy from neighbouring communities in the various locations about town.
