Who we are
Little Obion Baptist Church is an Independent, Mission Minded, King James Only, Historic Baptist Church. We believe it is the preaching of the Word of God that the Lord uses to save souls and change lives and that is exactly what we do... one man sows another waters, but God gives the increase. This church has been preaching the Gospel for over 180 years and we see no reason to change the method now. God has not changed, His Word will not change, but the view of God has changed in our society. People no longer view God as Sovereign, Just, Omnipotent, and Omniscient. The modern, liberal, and sometimes blaspemous view of Almighty God has lead to compromise, confusion, and corruption in the churches.
Through the grace of God this church has remained faithful to the Lord and to the Baptist Faith. We are considered old fashion and outdated because we still believe that the House of God is the place where we meet to hear from God, worship God, and receive direction and correction from the Word of God through the man of God. The House of God is to be reverenced; it is the habitation of God (Eph 2:22). The church service is not a social gathering, form of entertainment, or a way to sooth one's conscience.
We still believe that God's people are to be a peculiar people, that a child of God should not love the world neither the things that are in the world (I John 2:15), that the carnal mind is enmity against God and not subject to the law of God (Rom 8:7), and that the natural man receieveth not the things of the Spirit of God (I Cor 2:14).
Our music, services, outreach, discipleship, and way of life is for the purpose of bringing glory and honor to God through obedience and faithfulness. We desire the presence of God in our lives and church so that the Lord can speak to our hearts and reveal His will for us as individuals, families, and a church.

Little Obion Baptist Church History
Quotes from Baptist History:
"If God does not save men by truth, he certainly will not save them by lies. And if the old gospel is not competent to work a revival, then we will do without the revival." Spurgeon
Sometimes truth is lost first in a church, and then holiness and sometimes the decay or hatred of holiness is the cause of the loss of truth. But if either is rejected, the other will not abide. John Owen
Give a man an open bible, an open mind, and a conscience in good working order; and he will have a hard time to keep from being a Baptist. A.T. Roberson
"If God does not save men by truth, he certainly will not save them by lies. And if the old gospel is not competent to work a revival, then we will do without the revival." Spurgeon
