Who we are
Welcome to MEC, a vibrant, friendly church situated in the beautiful town of Malvern. We are a multi-cultural community learning to do life like Jesus. We appreciate that this is a time of great upheaval and uncertainty. But we are here for you! Join us as we step forward in faith and reach out in love.
We believe in:
The unity of the one true and living God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The Bible as the divinely inspired Word of God.
The virgin birth.
Salvation by grace through faith since all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory.
The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ which is the only way by which we can be saved.
The ministry of the Holy Spirit whose ongoing work transforms us, equips us and empowers us for service.
The obligation upon each believer to seek to be filled, and be filled continuously, with the Holy Spirit.
The baptism of believers which is an outward sign of an inward reality - a public declaration of faith in the saving work of Christ.
The observance of the Lord’s supper (communion) in remembrance of His sacrifice for us.
The effectiveness of prayer and the need to be in regular fellowship with God.

Malvern Evangelical Church History
Malvern Evangelical Church (MEC) was founded in 1969 by a small group of Christians who had begun to meet together in the Co-op Hall in the Barnard’s Green area of Malvern.
The numbers grew and in 1971, the newly constituted MEC took a step forward in faith when a plot of land in Pickersleigh Road was purchased from the then Malvern Urban District Council, with outline approval to build a church. On 31st May 1975, Dr Martin Lloyd-Jones of Westminster Chapel preached at the Dedication Service of the new church.
Over the years, the work of MEC has expanded beyond Sunday worship to embrace a range of activities which cater for all sections of the community, with a particular focus on outreach to children and young people. We also make our building available for neighbourhood groups to use. Our new facilities were completed in early 2016 and offer a range of ministry and group activities to all age ranges. Our vision is to see people empowered through a life-changing relationship with God, encouraged through authentic Christian community and equipped to impact others.

Teach us to serve Thee
Teach us, good Lord, to serve Thee as Thou deservest: To give and not to count the cost; To fight and not to heed the wounds; To toil and not to seek for rest; To labour and not ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do Thy will.
