Who we are
We are a family of God, under the continued protection of our patroness, Our Mother Mary, a fellowship afire with a unifying spirit, a familial and welcoming home, the community of the faithful. We provide relevant ministries and programs to everyone of all ages, life-stages and nationalities.
A prominent landmark overlooking both Deerfoot Trail and 16th Avenue, Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish is served by the Religious Congregation of the Sons of the Immaculate Conception. An amalgamation of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic church, we serve Catholic families from all corners of the city of Calgary and celebrates mass throughout the week and weekends in English, Italian and now Spanish.

Fr. Shibu was born on March 31, 1975 and entered the religious community, the Congregation of the Sons of the Immaculate Conception in 1991. He completed his philosophical studies in India and his theological studies in Rome. He was ordained on December 29, 2003 and in May 2004 was sent to Merida, Mexico where he served as Pastor of San Martin Caballero, where they have 45,000 people with 6 station churches!
Mexico boasts an active youth organization and while there Fr. Shibu was in charge of the youth pastoral of the Archdioceses of Yucatan. He even accompanied 121 youth to the 2012 World Youth Day in Spain!
His most valued role to date however was establishing and building the Shelter Home “El Señor de la Divina Misericordiaâ€. This home, a cherished dream of the community was inaugurated in September 2012 and serves family members who cannot afford accommodation when they accompany their loved ones to the local hospital. We know that Fr. Shibu will be a wonderful blessing to our church family. He is looking forward to becoming part of this community and we would ask that you keep him in your prayers as settles into his new home.

Grant me, O Lord...
Grant me, O Lord, to know what I ought to know,to love what I ought to love, to praise what delights Thee most, to value what is precious in Thy sight, to hate what is offensive to Thee. Do not suffer me to judge according to the sight of my eyes, nor to pass sentence according to the hearing of the ears of ignorant men; but to discern with a true judgment between things visible and spiritual, and above all, always to inquire what is the good pleasure of Thy will.
