Who we are
For more than 120 years Mount Olive (a member of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod) has been bringing the Good News of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to our neighbors in the Washington Heights and the surrounding community in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Our faith is based solely in the writings of the Sacred Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments which witness to Jesus Christ our Savior. The Holy Scripture is God's inspired and inerrant Word. With the Christian church we confess the faith of the three ecumenical creeds: the Apostles', the Nicene, and the Athanasian.
With the Evangelical Lutheran Church we confess the faith of the Book of Concord of 1580 including the Augsburg Confession, the Apology to the Augsburg Confession, the Smalcald Articles, the Treatise on the Power and Primacy of the Pope, the Large and Small Catechisms of Dr. Martin Luther, and the Formula of Concord.

May your light illuminate our hearts
Eternal God, this holy night is radiant with the brilliance of your one true light. May that light illuminate our hearts and shine in our words and deeds. May the hope, the peace, the joy, and the love represented by the birth in Bethlehem this night fill our lives and become part of all that we say and do. May we share the divine life of your son Jesus Christ, even as he humbled himself to share our humanity. Amen.
