Who we are
New Life Church is a fellowship of believers under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our ultimate desire is to know Jesus Christ, to be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit, and then to transform our individual worlds by living a life pleasing to him. We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations. We believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is the Lord’s Agape love, which is greater than any differences we possess, and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.
We Believe Worship should be Spiritual. Therefore we remain flexible and yielded to the Holy Spirit to direct our worship services.
We Believe Worship should be Inspirational. Therefore music has a significant place in our worship.
We Believe Worship should be Intelligent. Therefore, our services are designed with great emphasis upon teaching the Word of God in power.
We Believe Worship bears Fruit. Therefore His Love in our lives is the supreme manifestation that we truly know and love Him.

New Life Church History
Beginnings. October 31st, 1979 marked the beginning of the Divine Mission the Lord gave Dusty Kemp and the small group of 40 believers calling themselves Bread of Life Church. The assignment: to Know Jesus and Make Him Known. For over three decades now, we have been pursuing His presence, studying the Word to become like Jesus, learning how to love, and trying to stay out of His way, as Jesus builds His church. The first 14 years, the church was located in rented facilities at 1450 West Belt N. which is now the West Sam Houston Tollway. The church quickly became known as a place to hear the Word of God taught as it was written, with an expectation for God to confirm His word with signs and wonders following.
Pastor Kemp’s daily radio program, Bread of Life, supplemented the outreach of the church, speaking to the greater Houston area for many years. In the late 1980’s, we began feeling the growing pains of being constrained by rented space. The Lord instructed us and led us to raise $1million to purchase our own building and land, not knowing where that would be. The week after achieving the goal, a 20 acre tract of land became available less than one mile from our location. The price was reduced because it was in foreclosure. We paid cash for the land, and had money left over to pay for our sanctuary. In 1993, Bread of Life Church moved onto its current location debt free! This has been the testimony of every success along our spiritual journey. They can be summed up by Psalms 118:23, “The Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.”
Into the 21st Century. In this rapidly changing world, we know that God and His Word never change. Our methods may change, but not the message. These are times like never before that we need sound doctrine, clear discernment, and our eyes firmly fixed on the Lord Jesus Christ. New Life is dedicated to being a light of God’s love and truth in the darkness until He comes. Today, we support missionaries around the world and on college campuses. Our LifeDonor outreach sends the extra bibles Christians have, to third world pastors who have none. There are many other opportunities in the planning stages even now that will give you an opportunity to have a part in changing the world for the Lord Jesus Christ!

Love me, Lord, just for today
Lord, for tomorrow and its needs, I do not pray; Keep me, my God, from stain of sin just for today. Let me both diligently work, And duly pray. Let me be kind in word and deed, Just for today. Let me be slow to do my will, Prompt to obey; Help me to sacrifice myself Just for today. And if today my tide of life should ebb away, Give me thy sacraments divine, Sweet Lord today. So for tomorrow and its needs I do not pray, But keep me, guide me, love me, Lord, Just for today.
