Mission Statement:
“We the members of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church being disciples of Jesus Christ, commit to providing spiritual healing to a troubled world.
Our mission statement is based on Matthew 25:35-36 "For I was hungry, and you gave me meat: I was thirsty, and you gave me drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in: Naked, and you clothed me: I was sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came unto me."
Motto: To be constant in Christ’s compassion
WHAT WE BELIEVE:
God is the only true and living God and besides Him there is no other.
WE BELIEVE THAT HIS NAME IS: Jehovah, and that He also has compound names for all of our circumstances:
If you need Peace, He's Jehovah Shalom.
If you need Provision, He's Jehovah Jireh.
If you need Healing, He's Jehovah Raphah.
If you need Righteousness, He’s Jehovah Tsidkenu.
If you need Identity, He's Jehovah Nissi.
He's also Elohim; El Elyon; El Rio; El Shaddai; He's God; He's Omniscient, He's Omnipotent, and He's Omnipresent.
We believe He is the cause of the effect; He existed before time. Furthermore, we believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God. Holy men wrote as they .were inspired by God.
We believe that the Bible will bring joy in the time of sorrow, it will give hope for tomorrow, it will bring strength to the weak, provide light in darkness, health to the sick, faith to the fearful, hope in the time of disaster.
We believe the Bible should be read, eaten, digested, lived, regurgitated and shared to all.
We believe the word is quick and powerful and sharper than a two edged sword.
We believe that Jesus is the son of God, whose purpose was to give life (a ransom for many). He died so that we may live.
We believe He was sinless and we believe that Jesus came also to reveal God unto us that we may have greater fellowship with Him.
We believe that He was born of a virgin, died on Friday, and got up, physically Sunday morning with all power in His hands.
We also believe that it was love that got Him killed, it was love that kept him on the cross.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is God's active agent that lives on the inside of saved men for the express purpose to reveal Jesus and to give power and revelation.
