Leader Bio:
Pastor Ofa Langi was born and raised in Riverside, CA, by his parents Maiko and Akosita Langi. Ofa was the youngest of the family, with three older sisters. He grew up in a strong and active Adventist home, where church and family was a way of life. Being Tongan, Ofa and his family were devout and committed members of the Los Angeles Tongan Adventist Church.
At the age of 12, Ofa's life changed forever with the loss of his father. As a result of this, Ofa became an angry, arrogant adolescent, rebelling against all things he had been taught. A high school drop-out, addictions took over his young life and he found himself empty, unfulfilled and searching for something to fill the void his father's death had left in his heart. It was only by God's grace that Ofa made it through those difficult times in his life.
In June of 1999, Ofa's life would again be changed forever. He found himself pinned inside an old work truck that he had crashed into a palm tree in Riverside, CA. This was God's wake-up call to Ofa. While lying in his hospital bed, his doctors instructed Ofa that, in order for him to recover and to be able to walk again, he must be drug and alcohol free for at least six to nine months. It was there in the emergency hospital room that Ofa made a commitment to God that he would give up his addiction for life and be obedient to God's leading in his life. God led Ofa to pursue an education and he received his GED from South Seattle Community College in 2000. While working for the City of Seattle, he was accepted to Walla Walla University. In the fall of 2002, Ofa started his collegiate studies and graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology. He was called into ministry by the Washington Conference as an Associate Pastor of the Kirkland Seventh-day Adventist Church.
He later studied at Andrews University Theological Seminary, where he graduated in 2011 with his Master of Divinity.Pastor Ofa moved to Skagit County to take the role of Associate Pastor of the North Cascade Seventh-day Adventist Church (NCSDA) in January 2012. In May 2015, before a full house of those whose lives he has impacted, Pastor Ofa was ordained to gospel ministry in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. In December of 2015, Pastor Ofa accepted the Senior Pastor position at NCSDA. The church is extremely fortunate to welcome him to this new mission, where his love of God, committed service to the people of the community, and his passion and dedication to actively supporting those around him will be a teaching example to all those whose lives he touches. As one of the few ordained Tongan pastors in North America, Pastor Ofa also ministers to his international community as the Asian Pacific Coordinator for the North Pacific Union (NPU) and also serves on the Tongan Advisory Committee for the Seventh-day Adventist North American Division (NAD).
God has blessed Ofa's ministry. Together with his wife, Jackie, they make a ministry team that is happy to serve others in anticipation of meeting Jesus in the clouds. Ofa and Jackie have four children, Maiko, Akosita, Malakai, and Josiah.

Listen, my friend!
Listen, my friend! Your helplessness is your best prayer. It calls from your heart to the heart of God with greater effect than all your uttered pleas. He hears it from the very moment that you are seized with helplessness, and He becomes actively engaged at once in hearing and answering the prayer of your helplessness.
