Who we are
WHO We Are
We are a group of individuals, couples, and families who meet to study God’s word, learn to apply God’s word, and support and encourage one another. We’re a friendly bunch and, when you come, you’re sure to feel welcome. In our church family, you’ll find some older, some middle-age, and a whole lot of kids.
WHY We Meet
According to our mission statement, “Northlight Baptist Church exists to display God’s truth to the world, to make true disciples of Jesus Christ, and to disciple others to build up and cause the growth of His church.”
WHAT We Do
In order to accomplish our mission, you’ll find our services saturated with the following elements: Bible-Centered Preaching
In these last days (2 Ti. 3:1), difficult times have come (2 Ti. 3:2-5). Since the Bible alone is inspired (2 Ti. 3:16-17) Northlight Baptist Church endeavors to teach and preach the Word (2 Ti. 4:2), not entertain (2 Ti. 4:3). View Sermons
God-Honouring Music
We desire to “teach and admonish each other with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs” (Col. 3:16) and avoid the world’s music (Ro. 12:1-2).
Making Disciples
Northlight Baptist Church views Jesus’ Mission (Matthew 28:18-20) as the primary mission of the church. We focus on making disciples to build up Christ’s body (Eph. 4:11-16).

Leader Bio:
Pastor Greg and his wife, Ruth, moved to Athabasca county in 2012 to plant Northlight Baptist Church.
Greg has a passion for Bible-centered preaching…digging in to God’s Word to find out exactly what it means, not figuring out what he wants to say and then finding a Bible verse that goes with it.
Greg desires to make true disciples of Jesus Christ and to equip others to do the same (Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 4:11).
When he’s not working, you’ll find Greg spending time with his wife or hanging out with his five kids.
Previous to planting and pastoring Northlight Baptist Church, Greg taught full time at Foundation Baptist College in Edmonton, where he still teaches as an adjunct professor.
Greg holds a B.A in Bible, M.A. in Bible, and a Master of Divinity degree.

Northlight Baptist Church Service Times
Sundays: 10:30 am
Wednesday: 7:00pm
Please do not attend if you think you may be experiencing COVID symptoms. You can use the online assessment tool.
Please practice physical distancing (2 metres) at all times between those not in your family and do not share items. We will not have a bulletin.
We will not have a nursery or children’s church. We will have an informal service with an interactive Bible study. So, it would be totally fine for young children to play quietly by their parents during the service.
We will not sing during the main service. But for those who wish to sing, we will do so after the service is over and after those who do not wish to sing have exited.
We will not pass an offering plate, but there will be an offering plate in the back of the auditorium for those who wish to give. Online giving is also available via Interact: [email protected]
Please try to limit extended socializing indoors.
Entrance will be through the main door. The exit will be through the stairwell door next to the church office. Entrance and exits will be clearly marked.
You are welcome to wear a mask and we’ll have some hand sanitizer available.
It's been more than 3 years since the last service times update. Please make sure to contact the church to confirm service times.

Sunday School / Children and Youth Activities
Under 12s:
Children’s Ministry
Our children’s ministry is not at all intended to be simply an entertainment time to occupy the children while their parents are taught from God’s word. Rather, we view our ministry to our children as an opportunity to teach them God’s truth and to train them to be true disciples of Jesus Christ, able to eventually disciple others.
While we believe the primary responsibility of a child’s spiritual education is the home, we desire to support and reinforce their parent’s spiritual training of each child. We believe children should not just be taught the Bible, but that they should be allowed to ask questions and be taught why they should believe it.
Nursery:
A nursery is available for all services.
Sunday Morning Sunday School:
Children are taught chronologically through the Bible. Beginning at Genesis and working their way through the Bible to Revelation, children are taught the truths of the Scripture.
Wednesday Night Children’s Bible Study:
Children are taught the doctrines found in the Bible. They learn what God has to say about various topics and they learn what the Bible has to say about the foundational beliefs.
