Who we are
In 2018, Northwest Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) celebrated 60 years of ministry in Arlington. Throughout our history we have sought to offer programs and ministries of love and service to meet the spiritual needs of our membership and the community around us.
We strive to draw closer to God as God draws closer to us. Our weekly worship service is built on Scripture, song, and prayer. As a congregation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), we believe that we are uniquely equipped to live up to our identity as “a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.” We gather to worship God each Sunday at 10:15 a.m. Our weekly communion is open to all who follow Jesus Christ.
We are committed to our founding ideals of unity in Christ, and our commitment to the study of Scripture with openness and diversity in practice and belief.
Are you looking for a way to grow closer to God and to deepen your faith? We invite you to come and see if we are the church you are seeking. Join us for worship, for study, and for fellowship and service activities.
Our Mission:
With God’s help,
We will create a Christ-centered community, providing opportunities for Christian fellowship, growth, and worship. Within this loving Christian environment, we will foster personal growth by revealing Christ’s work in our lives through open and honest sharing of our life’s journeys, celebrations, and struggles. We will provide opportunities for individuals to use their God given gifts and talents. We will pray for and with each other, and relate to each other with acceptance and encouragement, acknowledging and recognizing that each person is God’s unique creation. Through service and kindness, we will model God’s unconditional love. All this we will accomplish through the power of prayer, the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the love of the Father, and the sacrifice of the Son.

Open our ears.
Blessed Lord, open our ears to hear what Thou speakest and our eyes to see as Thou seest. Give us hearts to beat in sympathy with Thine at the sight of every little child; and above all, our Lord, to understand and experience how surely and how blessedly Thou fulfilest Thy promise, "Whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me."
