Youth Programs
Sunday School
This is a time for junior and senior high youth to engage in an active learning session, taking topics of interest and relating them to the Bible. They meet every Sunday morning, 9:15 – 10:15 am in the north wing of the church.
Small Groups
These groups have become the heart of our ministry. They are designed for youth who want to build a meaningful relationship with an adult mentor while seeking answers to their questions about God. These goals are accomplished through Bible study and prayer. They meet weekly during the months of September through May.
Sunday Night Live
We are excited to offer youth group EVERY Sunday night for those in 6th – 12th grade. Each night will include fun games, a group lesson and a message. After the introductory activity, the youth will separate into junior & senior high groups for discussion and small group time. This is where the youth are taught, challenged, and encouraged to dig deeper in their relationship with God. This nonjudgmental and accepting group of people will guide your preteens and teenagers as they not only figure themselves out, but identify who they are in Christ as well. Each youth will be assigned a mentor who will guide, encourage, support, and build a relationship specifically with your child. This is the year of “Roots” where they will be building, guiding, and strengthening their roots here at Oakland.
Fall and Spring Retreats
Youth have the opportunities to attend spiritual retreats in the fall and spring.
Summer Trips
Every summer a special event is offered to senior high youth. In a four-year period, they have the opportunity to participate in two work camps, the National Youth Conference in Colorado, and a Brethren heritage tour through Pennsylvania. These trips are fun and meaningful and often have a big impact on their life.
Summer Work Camps
Our denomination offers many service projects for the youth throughout the USA and Central America each summer.
