Who we are
We believe that OneLife Church was God’s idea. He had a plan for OneLife and how we would impact our city way before we ever started. Our story is that every good thing that has happened has been led by and orchestrated by Jesus (Matt 16:18).
In 2007, Brian Barr, along with his wife and two young children (at the time), moved to the Bay Area of Houston along with a few other families from Texas, California, Australia, and South Africa. Most of them didn’t know each other but what they did know was that God had connected them to each other for the specific purpose (Acts 17:24) of starting a church in the Bay Area of Houston. After meeting for a few months as a core group of 13 adults and 24 kids, OneLife Church started on Easter of 2008. The God-given dream was to start a new church that would engage the people of the Bay Area of Houston with the love and grace of Jesus in a new and profound way. What started out as a small group of people has grown into a community of believers.
OneLife is continuing to grow through the compelling power of the gospel as we follow Jesus as His disciples. Our confidence was and still is that Jesus is building His church. Jesus is on the move in and through OneLife Church. Our story is just beginning to unfold and you can play an important role in it!
