Who we are
Welcome to Ontario First Church of the Nazarene
We are passionate about sharing the love of Christ with our community and helping people to discover and follow Jesus our Savior and our Friend. We invite you to come and worship with us and consider making OFCN your church home.
-Pastors Connie Blastock, Tim Brewer, Kim Glenn & Eddie Wheeler.
Our Mission
To make followers of Jesus in our community.
Our Core Values
As we pursue our passion to follow Jesus, we have eight core values which drive our focus:
Celebrate through worship. Worship is giving God the honor He deserves. It is something we do when we gather together on Sundays and other events, but is far more than simply attending or even participating. It is a lifestyle that is built on a deep love for God and His plan for our lives. Matthew 22:37-39; John 4:23-24.
Commission to reach the lost. Before leaving earth, Jesus told His followers to continue communicating the gospel (literally, good news) throughout the world, because God's love is for all people. We share Christ through our friendships with our neighbors, co-workers and family. We are to be Jesus with skin on to the people around us. Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8.
Commitment to the Word. From cover to cover, the Bible reveals the nature of God. It is a reliable source with no errors which would hinder us from being brought to full relationship with God, and has been given by God to help us understand who He is and to reveal His will to us. Psalm 119:103-104; Colossians 3:16; II Timothy 3:15-16; James 1:21-23.
Christlike character. God, who is holy, calls us to a life of holiness. Through the Holy Spirit, each person can not only be forgiven of sin, but can even be transformed, empowering us to love God with our whole beings and to love our neighbors as ourselves. True Christian character is Christlikeness. Isaiah 6:1-7; Galatians 5:16-25; Colossians 3:1-17.
Community. We are a part of the body of Christ, and as a family, it is our responsibility to value, encourage, forgive and hold one another accountable as we follow Jesus. Proverbs 27:17; John 13:34-35; Galatians 6:2; Ephesians 4:11-16.
Caring and Compassionate. We are a community of faith who cares about the needs of our neighbor and our world. Matthew 25:31-46; James 2:14-19.
Challenge to empowering ministry. God has created each of us with a unique set of abilities and skills, and intends for us to use those in serving Him. The church is a team, not individual players, working together to bring glory to God. Romans 12; I Corinthians 12; Ephesians 4:11-16.
Comprehensive stewardship. Everything we have--our time, money and possessions--belongs to God and we use them to honor Him, to bless others, and to provide for the ministries of His church. I Timothy 6:17-19.

Leader Bio:
Tim Brewer is first of all a husband and a father. He and his 'righteous babe' Nancy have been married for thirty years and have two wonderful kids, Rachel and Brad and has gained a wonderful son-in-law James. Tim loves the outdoors, camping, hiking, and especially Disneyland where he has been identified as 'most like Goofy.' His most recent accomplishment is going hunting for the first time last year during the coldest four days known to man. He did survive and no animals were injured during the undertaking of said trip.
Tim came to know Christ as a 16-year-old. The death of a childhood friend helped him discover the love and hope of Christ. Each day following Jesus is still fresh and new.
He attended Northwest Nazarene University and Nazarene Theological Seminary. He spent ten years in youth ministry and served as lead pastor in Salt Lake City (11 years) and is now shepherding the wonderful people of Ontario.
The weirdest thing Tim has ever eaten is snail. Â

Sunday School / Children and Youth Activities
Under 12s:
* Sunday school (9:30am) is where we work on developing strong biblical foundations. Interactive curriculum and excellent teachers help children to experience fun, faith-building encounters specific to God's Word.
* Gathered worship is critical to our spiritual growth. Because we believe that, we invite our families to worship together at 11am. Children preschool-5th grade are invited to a children's lesson during a portion of the worship time.
* Children's Quizzing is for children in grades 2-6, providing more in-depth BIble study than most other gatherings for these ages. The children study a particular book of the Bible for seven months, and enjoy traveling to participate with kids from other churches at three enjoyable quiz meets. Â

Help my unbelief
Dear God, help my unbelief. When I'm in pain, I forget that you care about me. I forget that you have helped me through my trials. I forget that you hold me in your arms to keep me safe. I forget that you are feeling my pain with me. I forget that you love me, I forget that I am important to you. Show me your presence - let me feel your enveloping love. Heal my hurting soul. Thank you for staying with me even in my unbelief.
