Joseph Barita, ALCP was born on April 7th, 1957 in Moshi, Tanzanita. He was ordained for the Apostolic Life Community of Priest Holy Spirit Fathers in Moshi, Tanzania in 1988.
He first served in the United States in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, coming to the country in 2000. Then he was assigned in the Archdiocese of Portland as a parochial vicar at St. Pius X in 2004.
He enjoys working in community parish life and became Pastor at Our Lady of Victory Church in Seaside, Oregon and St. Peter the Fisherman in Arch Cape in November of 2016. He is a blessing to our community.
Everyday, without fail, Father brings a smile to the office. Parishioners love Fr. Barita not only for his holiness, but also for his abiding good humor, warmth and friendliness.

Abide in my heart
Come, Lord Jesus, and abide in my heart. How grateful I am to realize that the answer to my prayer does not depend on me at all. As I quietly abide in You and let Your life flow into me, what freedom it is to know that the Father does not see my threadbare patience or insufficient trust, rather only Your patience, Lord, and Your confidence that the Father has everything in hand. In Your faith I thank You right now for a more glorious answer to my prayer than I can imagine. Amen.
