I was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, in 1962 to a military family, the U.S. Army, to be specific. I lived in so many places I have to stop and think where I lived during certain times of my life, from Louisiana to Virginia, Missouri to Iowa, Japan, and Alabama.
The benefits of living in many places, other than preparing me for itinerancy, was an opportunity to experience many cultures, both American and Japanese. Going to school in different areas of the country and Japan allowed me to encounter different ways of being taught and learning and experience the lives of others in their environment.
I have been in retail management since leaving the U.S. Navy in 1985, working for companies like Circuit City, Best Buy, and Dick’s Sporting Goods, to mention a few. My wife, Robin, and I were married in 1985, and after a few years, we divorced, matured, and after 27 years, are reunited and remarried since 2017. Our children and grandchildren are a large part of our lives and love spending time with them.
I was finally able to answer the call in 2013 after feeling it initially in 1978 as a young man of 15. I began my path down the CLM way but then was assigned to the Providence-Shippenville Charge in July of 2019. I will have my licensing school completed in April of 2020, with the course of study beginning in the fall of 2020 or spring of 2021. I look only to serve those who God appoints me to at the pleasure of the Bishop as the Holy Spirit directs.
