Who we are
Bâtie durant les années 1880 dans le style second-empire, l'église Saint-Jean-Baptiste est nommée en l'honneur de saint Jean-Baptiste, le cousin de Jésus-Christ et le saint-patron des Canadiens-Français. L'église Saint-Jean-Baptiste, d'une grande richesse patrimoniale, a été classée monument historique par le Ministère de la culture du Québec. Ses grandes orgues romantiques Déry-Casavant ont été classées bien culturel par le Ministère de la Culture. Elle a donné son nom à la paroisse qui inclut aussi, depuis 2000, l'église Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens. Faute de fonds, cette église a été fermée le 24 mai 2015, pour une durée indéterminée. Un don se chiffrant en millions de dollars sera nécessaire à une éventuelle réouverture.
