Who We Are
Providence is an all ages, racially diverse community of believers that gathers (throughout the week) in Southside Savannah to worship God. Everything we do is based on a desire to draw attention to Jesus (Col 1:18)! We are passionate about loving our community and seek to grow (spiritually and numerically) through the instruction of the Bible which reveals us the way to God, the truth about God and a lifestyle that shows God. We, as God’s children, believe that the way, truth and life is successfully accomplished through, and in, Jesus Christ (John 14:6)! We are people who believe that worshipping God takes place through preaching/teaching, prayer/praise, sharing a meal and fellowshipping by encouraging each other (Acts 2:42). We are people who rely upon God’s grace to accomplish His goals for Providence Church! We believe that the Holy Spirit enables us to worship and obey His will for our lives!
What We Believe
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He is the only way to the salvation from sin and death as designed by God the Father. We believe that Holy Spirit brings people to Jesus Christ and the Holy comforts and gives power to Christians to live in a way which glorifies God. We believe that God the Father, Jesus Christ (His Son from all eternity), and the Holy Spirit are three persons in the Godhead, commonly known as the Trinity. All these truths are found in the Bible which we believe to be the Word of God; inspired and without error.

Blake is ordained in the P.C.A. and has a B.A. in Pastoral Theology from Summit Pacific College, and a M.A. in Systematic Theology from Regent College. Both academy’s are located in his previous home of citizenship: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. At Regent, Blake studied under the tutelage of his friend and mentor: Dr. J.I. Packer; in the Puritan catechitical ministry of Richard Baxter. He is married to Angela Belle, and has one daughter, Olivia. Blake received the call to Providence Church in the fall of 2011.

Chester Hamilton – Deacon
Chester has been a Deacon at Providence Church since 1977. He graduated from Savannah Technical College in 1970 with a degree in Drafting and Design, and served in the National Guard. Chester has a compassion heart for helping the needy and helping facilitate men’s ministries at Providence Church.
Rodney Parkin – Deacon
Rodney has been a Deacon for Providence Church since 2009. He retired honorably after 20 years of service from U.S. Army in the field of avionics, and has worked with U.S. Foods for 22 years. Rodney has a keen passion for prayer and is very expedient in taking care of Providence church logistics.
Mike Warnock – Worship Music coordinator
Mike has served as the worship coordinator of Providence Church for 12 years. He graduated with a B.A. in History from Furman University. He is our lead vocalist and volunteers with diligence and passion in order that our music is both thoughtful and engaging.
