Leader Bio:
Ron Van Peursem began his career teaching at a rural school in South Dakota. He taught computer classes, 5th grade and 6th grade - along with coaching football and basketball. Ron found that although he was enjoying working with students, God was calling him into full-time ministry.
In obedience to God's call, Ron attended Seminary at Sioux Falls Seminary in Sioux Falls, SD. Then in 2009, God led Ron (with his wife Jodi and 4 children) to the Fargo area where he accepted the pastor position at Red River Church in West Fargo.
Pastor Ron and Jodi love spending time with their biological family and church family. They enjoy playing board games, cards, sports and music. Ron and Jodi spend many afternoon and evenings attending school functions all over the FM area as they cheer on and support the youth of RRC.
If you attend RRC for any time at all, you will learn that Ron LOVES potluck, pie and Oreos!
Ron’s desire is to fall in love with the Lord more and more everyday and to encourage others to do so as well.

Red River Church History
Red River Church was started in 1982 when a small group of men and women began exploring the idea of bringing a reformed church into the community. By 1986, a congregation had formed.
In 1991, Red River Church broke ground on a church building at the corner of 9th Street and 7th Avenue in West Fargo across from the new West Fargo High School - which is where we are to this day.
Through the years we have led a number of events to serve the community and share the good news of Jesus Christ. We love our community and have hosted ESL classes, offered a free soccer camp and currently have free-of-charge community garden plots along with hosting many other functions. We love sharing about Jesus and have done so through Vacation Bible School programs and continue to do so through various ministries, community building nights and by opening our doors to immigrant worship services.
We strive to be a place of joy, hope and love by living, learning and teaching spiritual truth. Our joy comes from serving the Lord with our heart, mind and soul. Our hope is to be an asset to our community. Our love comes from God as we pray to be used by him.
Red River Church is a member of the Reformed Church in America. We most importantly believe in the love of God for all people and that he showed that love throughout the Bible, most specifically through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The way, the truth, and the life
Lord Jesus, thou who art the way, the truth, and the life; hear us as we pray for the truth that shall make all free. Teach us that liberty is not only to be loved but also to be lived. Liberty is too precious a thing to be buried in books. It costs too much to be hoarded. Help us see that our liberty is not the right to do as we please, but the opportunity to please to do what is right.
