Who we are
Our vision
Our vision is to be a beacon of faith and service in our community. We strive to become spiritually equipped (and evolving) to participate in fulfilling Christ's mission to the world.
Our core values
We are here for you as we serve God, our community, and one another. We value our children, your children, and spiritual development and growth for all ages. We value music and its contribution to worship--we believe music can transcend all faiths. We welcome diversity and we welcome people of all faiths. We value our Lutheran heritage and the faith of unconditional love and grace for all.
We are a proud part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
The ELCA is one of the largest Christian denominations in the U.S., with almost 4 million members in nearly 10,000 congregations nationwide. We are a church that shares a living, daring confidence in God's grace. Liberated by our faith, we embrace you as a whole person--questions, complexities and all. Join us as we do God's work in Christ's name for the life of the world.
What do Lutherans believe?
We believe in one God who is revealed in three expressions—creator, savior, and sustainer of all life. We accept the Bible as the inspired word of God’s love. We teach that all persons are estranged from God and we are ultimately saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We define the church as the fellowship of believers. The church is essential to Christian life and spiritual growth. We celebrate two holy acts as the God-given means for enriching our lives with grace — these are Holy Baptism and Communion. We do not live according to a formula of “do’s and don’ts” but in the freedom of God’s love and forgiveness.

Leader Bio:
It is my honor to serve as the pastor of Resurrection Lutheran Church! I grew up in East Tennessee on the same land as my grandparents where I often enjoyed watering the gardens, shucking corn, and eating a fresh tomato off the vine, cut by my grandfather’s pocket knife.
I was also blessed to grow up in the church as part of the Southern Baptist tradition. However, at the young age of 12 the Holy Spirit began to move my spirit toward the idea that I was meant to be a pastor. Yet, the idea of a woman pastor was not something I had ever known before. So I tucked that feeling inside my heart and pursued education as a career and another form of ministry.
In 2008 I graduated from East Tennessee State University with a degree in Human Development and Learning and in 2012 I graduated from Tusculum University with a master’s degree in education. However, the call of the Holy Spirit continued to call me toward ministry. In 2016 I discerned it was time to pursue that call and went to seminary at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina. I graduated in with my Masters of Divinity in 2020.
I am so humbled that God has called me to this ministry! The gifts of ministry that I enjoy the most are offering pastoral care, teaching about God’s Word, preaching and leading worship, and being creative with the ways God calls the church to care for our neighbors.
My love of ministry is shared with my husband, Ashton, who is also a pastor. We have a teenage son, Zion and a dog, Hank. I love to paint, draw, read, swim, and listen to people’s stories!
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or just to say “hello!”

Listen, my friend!
Listen, my friend! Your helplessness is your best prayer. It calls from your heart to the heart of God with greater effect than all your uttered pleas. He hears it from the very moment that you are seized with helplessness, and He becomes actively engaged at once in hearing and answering the prayer of your helplessness.
