Who we are
Roopville Road exists...
To invest in things that are eternal as we forever seek to love God
Jesus said unto him, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." This is the first and great commandment. And the second like unto it: "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." Matthew 22:37-39
And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying "All power is given unto Me in Heaven and on earth. Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." Amen. Matthew 28:18-20
"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where your treasure is, there will be your heart also." Matthew 6:19-21

Sunday School Classes - Sundays at 9:30am
3RD - 5TH GRADES – MELISSA ADAMS & CHRIS HARRIS - CHILDREN’S BUILDING
A very energetic class that focuses on young students learning lessons from the Bible that they can take with them to school and home. God wants us to invest early in our kids to learn about His Word, and we take that very seriously because we love the Lord and love your children. We count it an honor to serve as teachers of God’s Word.
2ND GRADE – JOEY & CELIA TRAYLOR - CHILDREN’S BUILDING
Our 2nd grade class discovers what God says in the Bible. From our lessons students learn to apply God’s word to their world. Every student learns the Gospel and that God wants us to share it with everyone. We reinforce learning with fun puzzles and quizzes.
1ST GRADE – DIAN TULLY - LOWER LEVEL OLD SANCTUARY
The children are learning the books of the New Testament. We have game time, Bible Study time, and snack time each Sunday. Come join us and have fun learning about Jesus and His Word

The Rock Student Ministry
The Student Ministry (youth ministry) of Roopville Road is a very active ministry. We seek to help students to KNOW and FOLLOW Christ. We offer many opportunities for our students to live out their faith and seek this end. We strongly feel that as a student ministry we are here to assist the parent in the spiritual development of their student ultimately leading students to a growing, passionate, independently dependent relationship with Christ.
Paul encourages Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:12 to "not let anyone despise your youth." The Rock simply helps communicate this truth to all students. We feel student are here first and foremost to glorify God and we aim to help them live that out each and every day.
Psalm 61:2 says "when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I." Students are pressed hard on every side. They need to know there is purpose, truth and hope. We feel that all of these things are found in Jesus Christ. Our hope is to lead students in knowing Christ and following Christ.

Roopville Road Baptist Church History
Our History
Roopville Road Baptist Church was established in February of 1978. Fifteen men sat at a kitchen table and wrote down what they would be able to give toward purchasing land. When counted, it came to the exact dollar amount for the land acquisition.
The first building was a two-story building, 40 feet by 90 feet with Sunday school rooms and a fellowship hall in the basement. Soon, more room was needed for Sunday school classrooms due to growth. A new fellowship hall was built on the south side of the church and was quickly overcrowded. Therefore, the space was doubled in size in order to accommodate the congregational needs.
In the early 1990's, we again were pressed for much needed educational space. An educational wing was added across the backside of the auditorium, adding 8,000 square feet. The auditorium was extended twenty feet in length as well to accommodate worship space.
In the late 1990's, a Christian Life Center was started. The facility is approximately 32,000 square feet. It also houses a new Fellowship Hall that was dedicated November 19, 2000. Construction has been completed on the remaining portion of this facility which has a full-size basketball/volleyball court, multipurpose event floor, exercise facilities, indoor walking track and additional education space. This facility is to be used to the Lord’s honor and glory and to bring souls to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. This facility now houses our temporary worship area as well. The old sanctuary was converted to space for our middle-high school ministry. Plans are now in the works for a new worship center that will also house new nursery/preschool accommodations as well as office and Sunday School space.
Roopville Road has had six pastors and interims before our present pastor, Stephen Peeples. The church now has 675+ members having grown from 55 charter members. The purpose of Roopville Road is “To invest in things that are eternal as we forever seek to love and glorify God” (Matthew 22:37-39). The fellowship of Roopville Road is “A Place for You to Call Home!”
