Who we are
We are a faith-based community of believers marked by the beliefs that we "believe, teach and confess" as Lutheran Christians. That is what makes us a "communion of saints" as confessed in the Apostles' Creed.
St. Matthew Lutheran Church is a member congregation of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS), a confessional denomination within the Lutheran fellowship of churches throughout the world. The LCMS affirms the Bible as God's Word and the sole source, rule and norm for all faith and life; Jesus Christ is the only Savior of humankind; the gifts and Word and Sacraments as the "means of grace" through which God works faith and hope through the presence of the Holy Spirit. The LCMS is headquartered in St. Louis, MO and is made up of over 6,200 congregations, 8 universities and 2 seminaries.
ST. MATTHEW'S DREAM STATEMENT.
St. Matthew's "dream" is to be welcoming, vibrant church engaged in spiritual feeding and care of its members, while being a Christian resource for families and individuals, young and old. Working together, equipped and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we use our various gifts and talents to share the love of Christ in serving our surrounding community.

Leader Bio:
Pastor Blaise started attending St. Matthew in 1976 and began full-time ministry in early January, 2004 as a Deacon doing full Word and sacrament ministry. In September 2006, he was a Vicar and was ordained as Pastor in June, 2010.
His primary job focus is preaching and teaching God's love for us, particularly shown through Jesus Christ.
In addition to numerous other duties, he leads the Confirmation students each week in a three-year study program through which our middle school youth participate in preparing them for the Rite of Confirmation. This unique program provides opportunities for youth group activities and service projects in addition to their Christian education.
You can find Pastor Blaise in our office most days.
He is married to Rose and they have eight children: Katy, Anne, Claire, Luke, Rosie, Gloria, Stefan and August. They are also blessed with a granddaughter, Jaela.
Pastor Blaise's favorite hymn is "Take My Life and Let It Be".
Christmas is his favorite holiday.
Pastor Blaise has two "go-to" Bible verses:
From Romans, Chapter 8, Verse 28: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose."
and
From Philippians, Chapter 4, Verse 19: "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." Â

Parking
There are three parking lots on the campus: the front lot (viewable from Churchville Road), the side lot and the rear lot. The easiest areas to park for Sunday morning services in the Sanctuary are the side and rear lots. The main Sanctuary entrance is located in the rear of the campus and that lot is larger. However, the door located next to the Great Hall, accessed by the side parking lot, is also open on Sunday mornings. Â

Teach me
Teach me, O God, to use all the circumstances of my life to-day that they may bring forth in me the fruits of holiness rather than the fruits of sin. Let me use disappointment as material for patience: Let me use success as material for thankfulness: Let me use suspence as material for perseverance: Let me use danger as material for courage: Let me use reproach as material for longsuffering: Let me use praise as material for humility: Let me use pleasures as material for temperance: Let me use pains as material for endurance.
