Leader Bio:
Steve Frost was raised in Michigan and grew up in the ministries of Lewis Avenue Baptist Church and State Line Christian School. While in high school, Steve was called to preach and felt God’s direction in ministry. In May of 2008, he graduated from Hyles Anderson College with a degree in Pastoral Theology. Steve and Mary met while in college and were married in February of 2008. They are blessed to serve the Lord with three children- Krysta, Tyler, and Zachary. For the past nine years, the Frost family has served under the ministry of Dr. Mike Mutchler at Grand View Baptist Church in Beavercreek, OR. During those nine years, Steve has enjoyed being the youth pastor, working in the Christian school, coaching sports, teaching the His Design adult class, running the discipleship program, and serving on the leadership team. On Sunday, May 14, 2017, the people of Shawnee Baptist Church voted to call Steve as their pastor. We are excited about God’s direction and the future of our church.

Shawnee Baptist Church History
In 1922, a local Baptist church started a mission at the corner of 38th and Market in Louisville, Kentucky. On March 29, 1923, that mission became known as Shawnee Baptist Church. Over the next 49 years, church attendance would decline from four hundred to just sixty. But our story was not yet finished, and Shawnee Baptist Church soon began to grow again.
In the 1970’s, the church established many new ministries, including Northside Christian School, New Life Communications, a bus ministry, and Kids Crusade- an annual city-wide effort to reach young people for Christ. The church continued expanding, moving to a new campus at 2214 Bank street and facilitating multiple construction and expansion projects. These projects culminated in 1995 with the construction of our current auditorium. Other ministries were started as well, including a localReformers Unanimous chapter, a national youth conference, and Indian Creek Baptist Camp.
A new chapter in our story is now being written. On May 14, 2017 our church voted to call Steve Frost as our senior pastor. And while we don’t yet know what the future holds, one thing is certain: we will continue to proclaim the Gospel throughout Louisville, the Kentuckiana area, and the rest of the world. It is truly an exciting time to be at Shawnee Baptist Church, and we hope you’ll join us as we continue our story.
