Who we are
We are a multi-generational Baptist church in the heart of Shoeburyness and Thorpe Bay. We journey together as disciples of Jesus, sharing our values of adventure, generosity, sanctuary and reflection; with each other, our 20,000 immediate neighbours and our wider communities of families, friends, colleagues and strangers.

ADVENTURE We believe that God is always on the move and doing a new thing. We recognise that the Christian faith is a journey and we are committed to helping people move forward, from wherever they are at present.
GENEROSITY We recognise that God is a life-giving and generous God, and we want to be like that too. We will seek to prioritise the poor and marginalised. We value laughter and sharing meals together.
SANCTUARY We believe that all people are loved by God, regardless of age, gender, education, class, ethnicity, sexuality, physical/mental health, or personal history.
REFLECTION We recognise that our relationship with God is the key to being fruitful in our mission and ministry. We will prioritise prayer and theological reflection as we seek the strength and wisdom to be who God is calling us to be.

Thanks to Thee, O God, that I have risen today, To the rising of this life itself; may it be to Thine own glory, O God of every gift, and to the glory, aid Thou my soul.
