Who we are
We are a Christ-centered congregation of Southern Baptist Christians, committed to reaching our city, state, and world with the life-changing message of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
We are located in Eastern Tennessee, in the city of Sneedville. Our mission is to fulfill the Great Commission, as described in Matthew 28:20, by connecting to and leading people in an authentic and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. This is accomplished by creating an environment of worship where God is at the center and where people are equipped and encouraged through His perfect Word and Will.
We are united with the Tennessee Baptist Convention and with the churches of the Holston Valley Baptist Association in supporting missions, both local and foreign.
We invite you and your family to join us for traditional worship and fellowship at SFBC. You are invited to come and share in the wonderful heritage and history of service to our Lord! There is always a place for you and your family at Sneedville First Baptist Church. We look forward to seeing you!

Leader Bio:
I am thankful the Lord called me to serve His people at Sneedville First Baptist. I have been a lifelong resident of East Tennessee and believe Tennessee is the greatest place to live in the world. I have great support and love from my family. Melissa, my wife, and Hannah and Morgan, my daughters, are a vital part of my life and ministry. We enjoy participating in God's work in any capacity.
I graduated from Walters State Community College with an A.S. in Social Sciences, from Tusculum College with a B.S. in Organizational Management, and from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary with an M.A. in Christian Leadership and MRE in Religious Education.
My favorite book of the Bible is Nehemiah. I enjoy fishing, college sports, writing, and reading. Outside of service as pastor of SFBC, I spend time serving the Tennessee Baptist Convention as a member of the Executive Board and as Vice President of the State Bi-Vocational Council. I am also a Disaster Relief Chaplain for the Tennessee Baptist Convention and the North American Mission Board.

With us night and morning
By gracious powers so wonderfully sheltered, and confidently waiting come what may, we know that God is with us night and morning, and never fails to greet us each new day. Yet is this heart by its old foe tormented, still evil days bring burdens hard to bear; Oh, give our frightened souls the sure salvation for which, O Lord, You taught us to prepare. And when this cup You give is filled to brimming with bitter suffering, hard to understand, we take it thankfully and without trembling, out of so good and so beloved a hand. Yet when again in this same world You give us the joy we had, the brightness of Your Sun, we shall remember all the days we lived through, and our whole life shall then be Yours alone.
