Leader Bio:
Phyllis has served St. Andrew since 1994. A true “Jersey girl,” she graduated from Drew University and Princeton Theological Seminary. She loves liturgy and the art of preaching, sings in the choir, and writes stories and essays. She also serves on the board of directors of A Portable Theatre.
Phyllis is a fan of mystery and detective novels, dotes on her pug Madeleine, and bakes a pretty mean batch of brownies.

St. Andrew Presbyterian Church Service Times
Sunday, 10:30 a.m. year round
Worship style is securely in the Presbyterian Church's Reformed tradition with hymns and anthems, organ and piano music, and adult choir. Sermons are biblically-based on the Revised Common Lectionary (assigned scripture lessons for each Sunday of the year), preached with contemporary language and tone. We worship 'in the round' because of our unique architecture, and worship feels more informal.
Communion Schedule: We observe the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper (Eucharist) on the first Sunday of the month and on Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, Easter, and Pentecost. We take Communion to homebound members quarterly.
Special Services
Christmas Eve
Maundy Thursday Tenebrae Supper preceded by potluck supper
Easter Day
World Communion Sunday (first Sunday in October)
St. Andrew's Day (the Sunday before beginning of Advent)
Baptism Renewal
It's been more than 6 years since the last service times update. Please make sure to contact the church to confirm service times.

St. Andrew Presbyterian Church History
St. Andrew Presbyterian Church began as a mission, a new church development, of the Presbytery of Columbus (now Presbytery of Scioto Valley) in October, 1962, and was formally organized as a self-governing congregation on March 10, 1963, with 118 members.
The congregation took its name from Jesus’ disciple Andrew, one of the first disciples called by Christ. Andrew, in turn, brought his brother Peter to Jesus. Known after the Resurrection as an evangelist and missionary, Andrew was martyred for his faith and crucified on an X-shaped cross (“saltire”). Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland and Russia.
In its formative months, the fledgling congregation met for worship and education in Forest Park Elementary School. The church has had three installed pastors in its history: The Rev. G. Terry Bard, founding pastor (1962—1969), the Rev. Howard C. Dhonau (1969—1992) The Rev. Phyllis A. Heffner (1994—present).

Lord, teach me to listen.
The times are noisy and my ears are weary with the thousand raucous sounds which continuously assault them. Give me the spirit of the boy Samuel when he said to Thee, "Speak, for Thy servant heareth." Let me hear Thee speaking in my heart. Let me get used to the sound of Thy voice, that its tones may be familiar when the sounds of earth die away and the only sound will be the music of Thy speaking. Amen.
