Who we are
Saint Anne's Episcopal Church is a vibrant Christian community in the heart of Middletown, Delaware, and we invite you to join us in worship, mission, and ministry. Our Sunday worship is the foundation and source of everything we do. The first thing we do (worship) on the first day of the week (Sunday) is to gather together to hear and reflect on Holy Scripture, say our prayers, confess our faith, participate in Holy Communion, and enjoy fellowship with our Christian family. The grace of God we receive in worship nourishes, strengthens, and inspires us for the week ahead and empowers us to do the work God has given us to do: to educate through our Sunday school, Youth Groups, and Adult Enrichment; to care for one another through our pastoral care ministries; to serve our neighbors through our outreach ministries; and to share the good news of God's love and salvation to the world.
If you are looking for a joyful, inclusive, Gospel-centered Christian community that lives the great commandments to love God and love our neighbors, we invite you to visit Saint Anne's Episcopal Church. Join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 8:00 AM or 9:30 AM, come to fellowship that follows each service, and stay for Sunday school and Adult Enrichment.

Historic Old Saint Anne's Church
Historic Old Saint Anne’s Church is located on the corner of South Broad Street and St. Anne's Church Road in Middletown, Delaware. Established 1704-1705 by a missionary society of the Church of England in what was then known as Appoquinimy (present day Middletown and Odessa) and named in honor of Queen Anne, English monarch at the time of the parish's founding, Saint Anne’s has two historic church buildings in which to worship: Old Saint Anne's Church (built 1768-1772) and Saint Anne's "town church" (built in 1872 and destroyed in the Great Fire of Middletown in 1882 and rebuilt later that year). Old Saint Anne's Church stands on the top of a hill at one of the branches of the Appoquinimink Creek; it is surrounded by its historic churchyard and is adjacent to the Old Saint Anne's Oak, a white oak tree which is documented to be more than 400 years old. Special services are offered at Old Saint Anne's Church throughout the year on Sundays and Christian Holy Days. Tours of Old Saint Anne's are available by appointment; please contact the Church Office for more information.
