Who we are
Welcome!
We are delighted that you are visiting us! We hope you will find a 'warm welcome' here and will visit our active faith community.
The parish of St. Barnabas serves people in the Upper Ottawa Valley from Chalk River to Stonecliffe. Our congregation was formed in 1946 and the church building constructed in 1962. We are part of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa. We are also part of the family of local churches and the Deanery of Pembroke.
We strive to be a community of faith that meets and celebrates God in our worship, and experiences God's love as we share the gift of life with each other and our neighbours.

St Barnabas Church Service Times
Christmas 2015 Services
Our Christmas Eve Family Service of Lessons and Carols will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 24th. This service is designed for people of all ages to come and enjoy. We will be singing many of our well-loved carols and our children and young people will dramatize the Christmas story. Some of our very talented young people will be singing and playing during the service. This service will be under one hour so that families with young children may also feel free to join us.
Our 11:00 p.m. Christmas Eve Candlelight Service of Holy Communion is a wonderful way to usher in Christmas Day. Each person is given their own candle to light.
As we enter the Christmas Season, we have only one service Christmas Day at 10:00 a.m. This is a great time to enjoy singing Christmas carols. Come and worship with us and welcome the newborn Christ into your hearts once again!
Regular Services
Our Sunday Worship occurs at both 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. and we follow the green Book of Alternative Services at both services (BAS).
Throughout the year, we enjoy evening services of Choral Evensong, which follow the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) as well as the more contemporary Praise & Worship service.
For services held from September to June, we have Sunday School for ages 4 and up during the 10 a.m. service as well as a supervised nursery for ages 4 and under. There is an opportunity for weekly fellowship during the coffee hour following the 10 a.m. service.
It's been more than 8 years since the last service times update. Please make sure to contact the church to confirm service times.

I ask for...
I ask you neither for health nor for sickness, for life nor for death; but that you may dispose of my health and my sickness, my life and my death, for your glory... You alone know what is expedient for me; you are the sovereign master, do with me according to your will. Give to me, or take away from me, only conform my will to yours. I know but one thing, Lord, that it is good to follow you, and bad to offend you. Apart from that, I know not what is good or bad in anything. I know not which is most profitable to me, health or sickness, wealth or poverty, nor anything else in the world. That discernment is beyond the power of men or angels, and is hidden among the secrets of your providence, which I adore, but do not seek to fathom.
