Who we are
West Worcester Beacon is a group of four churches: St Philip and St James church, Hallow; St Bartholomew's church, Grimley: St Martin's church, Holt; and Christ Church, Lower Broadheath. We are part of the Diocese of Worcester.
We are warm and friendly family Churches, and love to welcome all who visit us. We believe that God is active in this world and that none of us are complete until we know His healing love in our hearts. We invite you to join our fellowship as we explore together what God has planned for our lives through our journey into wholeness. We would love to welcome you to share worship in fellowship with us at our regular services.
Our aim is to offer a wide spectrum of both modern and traditional worship that provides for all ages so that we can come to worship God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The earliest church in Hallow was a small stone building on the bank above the River Severn. Nash, the Worcestershire historian, says that it had Saxon masonry over the north door. The present building, however, was built mostly from local sandstone brought from a quarry at Holt. It is a good example of Victorian-Gothic architecture, in the style of the 13th-14th Centuries. It was consecrated on 4th May 1869.

St Bartholomew Service Times
NOTICE - SUSPENSION OF SERVICES
In the light of the rapid spread of the new COVID variant, the vulnerability of many in our congregations, and the pressure on our local NHS; and following consultation with the churchwardens and Lay Leaders of these parishes, and with the Archdeacon of Worcester, I have taken the decision to suspend worship in our church buildings with immediate effect from today, Saturday January 2nd 2021.
This suspension will be reviewed before Ash Wednesday which falls on February 17th. We continue to offer our online service via YouTube on a Sunday and will also run a Sunday Evening Prayer Zoom service at 5pm, as well as a midweek Zoom on Wednesdays at 10am.
We will continue our mailings to those who cannot access online services and we will also seek to support the most vulnerable people in our communities by regular phone contact.
Although this is a difficult decision to have to make, I believe it is the right course of action at this time. If you, or someone you know, would like help in accessing our worship, or if you are in need of pastoral support or care, please do not hesitate to contact me
May you know God's blessing, peace and light at this difficult time.

Abide with us
O Holy Spirit of God, abide with us; inspire all our thoughts; pervade our imaginations; suggest all our decisions; order all our doings. Be with us in our silence and in our speech, in our haste and in our leisure, in company and in solitude, in the freshness of the morning and in the weariness of the evening; and give us grace at all times humbly to rejoice in Thy mysterious companionship.
