Who we are
St David's is a friendly church at the heart of our community in the delightful Cotswold town of Moreton-in-Marsh.
We are an Anglican, evangelical church with a membership of around 250 adults and children, of all ages, and are part of a benefice (group) including 4 other churches in the area.
As an evangelical church we are defined by these three convictions.
1. We are a Christian Church
We believe in one God who has revealed himself supremely through his Son, the Lord Jesus. To know God the Father, we must put our trust in his Son and his death for our sins. The chief work of God the Holy Spirit is to draw people to faith in Christ.
2. We are an Evangelical Church
We believe that the Bible is God’s word and is therefore our authority in all matters of faith and conduct. See the section below for our basis of faith which expresses much of what we believe. In all our activities we seek to listen to and obey God’s word in Scripture. We also aim to proclaim the Bible’s wonderful message of salvation through Christ to as many people as possible.
3. We are an Anglican Church
We stand in the tradition of the Anglican Reformers of the 16th Century, affirming with them the great truths which were rediscovered at the time of the Reformation , such as the sovereignty of God in salvation, justification by faith alone, and salvation in Christ alone. All Christians from any denomination are warmly welcome with us. We unite in Christ and not under any one denominational banner.
We are also part of the North Cotswold Gospel Partnership, the umbrella organisation which organises the Passion For Life missions that we have been involved with.

Teach me
Teach me, O God, to use all the circumstances of my life to-day that they may bring forth in me the fruits of holiness rather than the fruits of sin. Let me use disappointment as material for patience: Let me use success as material for thankfulness: Let me use suspence as material for perseverance: Let me use danger as material for courage: Let me use reproach as material for longsuffering: Let me use praise as material for humility: Let me use pleasures as material for temperance: Let me use pains as material for endurance.
