Who we are
St. Francis Xavier / Our Lady Queen of the World is one parish with two churches that are attended by about 110 families in the south Cowichan area.
St Francis Xavier overlooks Mill Bay from Kilmalu Road. This historic church recently celebrated its 125th anniversary with Bishop Richard celebrating Mass. St. Francis Xavier has been in continuous use for all these 125 years.
Our Lady Queen of the World sits among maple and fir trees close to Shawnigan Lake, on Shawnigan Lake Road. It was consecrated in 1954 to serve the surrounding area and the large number of summer visitors from the Victoria area.
