Who we are
Welcome to St. James, Caledon East.
St. James strives to provide a welcoming safe-haven where people can express their spiritual needs and bond with others of like mind. We work to bring people to God and to represent Christ in the community. We gather to worship through an Ancient-Future service that respects the rich tradition of the Anglican Church while incorporating aspects of a more contemporary service. We welcome all who wish to join us.
St. James is a traditional village church poised on the outskirts of the growing development of the Greater Toronto Region, 60 Kilometers from the Diocesan center and 30 kilometers North of Pearson Airport. The congregation is just beginning to reflect the diversity of the surrounding area and remains largely composed of farm families and village residents. We look forward to the challenge of growing our parish family for the future.
Recent additions to the physical building have increased our financial commitment but also have provided great opportunity to serve the community. Creative approaches to finding ways to continue to meet our financial needs will be needed as we move forward.
Our new Incumbent, Rev. Canon Mark Tiller is someone who respects the traditions of the Anglican Church and those more contemporary adaptations that St. James has implemented. He enjoys providing thought- provoking sermons and meaningful worship leading to facilitate our spiritual growth. He is a visible part of our community and capable of fostering outreach projects in our quest to attract new and younger parishioners.

Forgive us
O God, forgive the poverty and the pettiness of our prayers . Listen not to our words but to the yearnings of our hearts. Hear beneath our petitions the crying of our need.
