Who we are
Welcome to St. John's in New City, New York! We invite you to join us on our spiritual journey. St. John's Church is a eucharistically-based faith community comprised of neighbors and families celebrating our different understandings of the Christian faith within the Episcopal Church.
St. John's Episcopal Church is a part of the Episcopal Diocese of New York. As such, we are a part of the larger community of the world-wide Anglican Communion. We are involved with local, diocesan and world programs to benefit and share with others. Locally, St. John’s regularly provides non-perishable food items for the food pantry at People to People and aid in other local ministries. We foster a sense of outreach and service in all age groups and across the ministries and groups of the parish.
We have a variety of worship services on Saturdays and Sundays and special liturgical days throughout the year. These have included quiet services following Rite 1, sung services with music following Rite 2, and informal services where our children and youth play an active role in the liturgy.
We believe that Christian Formation is a lifelong journey and thus our education programs encompasses all ages from preschool to adult in our Church School, the Journey to Adulthood program, and Adult Education programs.
We hope that you will come worship with us!

Learn to know Christ
Learn to know Christ and him crucified. Learn to sing to him, and say, Lord Jesus, you are my righteousness, I am your sin. You have taken upon yourself what is mine and given me what is yours. You have become what you were not so that I might become what I was not.
