Pray and Care Group
The Prayer and Care Group meet on the 4th Thursday of every month, except August and December.
We are a small group who meet to pray especially for those who are unwell and bereaved; the names of those in needs are taken from the weekly church list or we are given names from their relatives or friends. Our prayers encircle not just friends from our Church or village but anyone in need.
The leader chooses a short bible reading and then the prayer lists are updated to see how those suffering are progressing. We include prayers for other specific needs but our main aim is to pray for the Lord’s leading hand on all the sick.
The informal meetings last about an hour and either Rev Terri Boyland or I lead our time together. There are usually six of us who meet regularly but all are warmly welcomed should they wish to join us; we finish with tea or coffee and refreshments and a chat.
The group meets at 2pm at my home 4 Abbey Close.
If you know of anyone in need of prayer then please let me know.

Tatworth Wives Group
The Wives Group has done well this past year to help raise money for the church hall storage room; the final amount raised being £1,100.
This coming year (2016) we are supporting The Munchkins miniature Shetland Rescue and the Samaritans as we raise funds for local charities as well as for the Church.
We meet every month for a talk or a film show from a guest speaker and we hold a sales table with a theme e.g. toiletries, stationery, bric-a-brac and a Christmas Stall
The committee members work very hard to make things interesting by holding an open house cream tea or coffee morning in a garden and Jane Grant organises a Christmas Fayre at her house when she is able.
This past year we heard from S.A.A.F.A; experiences of Ellie Baer’s life as a singer songwriter; a pilgrimage to Santiagode Compostela with Ann Plested; the beds Linda Vijeh had slept in as an AA hotel inspector; Diet and behaviour in young offenders from a retired policeman and Sandy Sandford’s experiences working as an overseas liaison officer with Action Aid.
Thanks to all the committee for their invaluable assistance and to those members who gave their time and help at the summer Fete and Christmas Bazaar; as well as thanks to the coffee and tea makers at each meeting.
We meet at 7.30pm in the Church Room on the first Thursday of each month and welcome visitors to any of our gatherings.

Abide with us
O Holy Spirit of God, abide with us; inspire all our thoughts; pervade our imaginations; suggest all our decisions; order all our doings. Be with us in our silence and in our speech, in our haste and in our leisure, in company and in solitude, in the freshness of the morning and in the weariness of the evening; and give us grace at all times humbly to rejoice in Thy mysterious companionship.
