St. Marguerite d'Youville Parish History
St. Marguerite d’Youville Parish in Brampton has flourished since its humble beginnings on the First Sunday of Advent in November 1992 with just 80 households. These families were originally part of St. Anthony’s Parish, but with expansion and development in the Springdale area, it became necessary to build a new church. This church was not started with mortar and bricks but on the hearts and enthusiasm of everyone who shared the Eucharist at St. John Bosco School, our temporary location for fourteen years. With dedication and perseverance, we worked through bake sales, raffles, flea markets, social events and financial commitments which permitted us to move into our existing church building in April 2003. The parish hall was recently completed and blessed by Bishop John Boissonneau on Jan. 29, 2011.
Today, we have over 4,500 registered families. The parish serves six elementary schools, St. Marguerite d’Youville High School, two seniors’ residences, and Brampton Civic Hospital. We have inspiring programs for the youth of our parish and special Sunday catechism for the younger ones. Overall, there are over 30 distinct ministries.

Learn to know Christ
Learn to know Christ and him crucified. Learn to sing to him, and say, Lord Jesus, you are my righteousness, I am your sin. You have taken upon yourself what is mine and given me what is yours. You have become what you were not so that I might become what I was not.
